The Problem of Evil Essay -- God and Evil are Compatible

Introduction One of the oldest dilemmas in philosophy is also one of the greatest threats to Christian theology. The problem of evil simultaneously perplexes the world’s greatest minds and yet remains palpably close to the hearts of the most common people. If God is good, then why is there evil? The following essay describes the problem of evil in relation to God, examines Christian responses to the problem, and concludes the existence of God and the existence of evil are fully compatible. Body â€Å"The problem of evil is often divided between the logical and evidential problems.† At the heart of each problem is the belief that the existence of God and the existence evil are incompatible. They present an â€Å"either/or† dilemma: either God exists or evil exists, for they cannot exist together. Clearly evil does exist, therefore, God must not. The logical problem of evil (LPE) proposes that if God exists, He is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent; in short, He would have the ability, knowledge, and desire to prevent evil. With the obvious existence of evil, God must not then exist. Christians have argued against LPE through in a variety of arguments (a number of these arguments could be labeled more broadly under the term â€Å"theistic,† but due to the nature of this paper, they will be cast from a Christian perspective). Some Christian arguments are considered sounder then others, but it is generally granted the Christian has succeeded in his task. Of note, the Christian doesn't need to explain why God would allow evil; he only needs to provide a reason that shows the existence of evil is not incompatible with the existence of God. Bluntly, the Christian could first appeal to the limits of human epistemology: claiming t... ...ers. 2. Cowan, Steven and Spiegel, James. 2009. The Love of Wisdom. 1. In our opinion, we think the answer about product life cycle is not absolutely correct. It is depend on product’s characteristic. 3C product such as eeepc (asus’s product, netbook) have quite short product life cycle; Rolex watch have been established more than 200 years. So if marketers want to extend product life cycle, they have to do more afford on survey to realize consumer behavior and satisfy their really needs and wants. When the product’s sales shows that it is on the decline stage, marketers should find the new desire on consumers and reposition, modify their product or marketing strategy, It is gain brand loyalty and equity to extend brands or products life cycle. Consequently, the â€Å"brand† makes its product life cycle prolong and maintain the product in the market. 2. Before we start to reposition, we must know the environment situation, such as industry, competitive, and consumer analysis. We use five forces analysis to analyze industry, and conclude that the competition is fierce. After that, we analyze competitive situation, through perceptual map we find that Kimberly-Clark is P&G biggest competitor. The price of Huggies is between Pampers and Luvs, and with the same function of Luvs. Consumers were willing to pay more than Pampers to buy Huggies. Form consumer analysis, we find that consumers are sensitive to quality. Because there were many double-income families, consumers are afford to pay high price for diapers. To regain the status of market share, P&G repositioned Pampers as high price brand, and changed some marketing strategies. Pampers has repositioned its products from â€Å"providing the most comfortable diapers† to â€Å"assisting mothers in bringing up children†. Therefore, it has come up with some concepts and ways to meet the purpose of the repositioning, such as the concept of Baby Stage of Development, the use of step-by-step toys, the consultation of experts, and establishment of Pampers parenting network. The concept of Baby Stage of Development is based on the babies various needs at various stages. As a result, P&G provides suitable diapers products for babies, including new babies, babies, toddlers and preschoolers. With the concepts of BSOD, Pampers has further introduced the step-by-step toy system. In the course of playing, the toys function as children friends. Besides changing the products, Pampers also establishes Pampers Parenting Network. On the websites, some experts have written professional articles on how to breed babies, how to help babies grow healthy, and so on. And all these articles are posted on the website as references for parents. Besides, the experts also provide professional responses to the problems parents have in the process of bringing up children. (2) We think that P&G can use the same way to reposition Crest’s brand image to differ from its competitors, and let it have room for progress. For instance, P&G can reposition Crest as a product for healthy and beautiful smile, not just for the purpose of cleaning. In this way, consumers can have better looks and fulfill their mental needs by using the repositioned products. 3. To realize consumers’ needs, P&G has a consumer relationship management system. In the system, there are three key points of customer relationship management. One is to understand consumers’ need deeply, second is to build consumer service center, third is to value consumers’ suggestions. To understand consumer’s need deeply, P&G through depth interviews, focus group, questionnaire survey, visit shop, trace system, e-mail, and telephone to attain this goal. Finally, value consumer’s suggestion is according to consumer’s feedback to improve product continuously. For example, there are colorful designs on the Pampers, because the babies’ clothes are light colors in summer, the picture color can be seen easily. Thus, P&G adopt the mothers’ advice to redesign the color. The above is how P&G to manage their customer relationship. Through the customer relationship management system, we can realize what consumers’ needs are.

The Choice Nicholas Sparks! - Free Essay Example

Sample details Pages: 2 Words: 631 Downloads: 1 Date added: 2017/09/18 Category People Essay Type Argumentative essay Tags: Film Analysis Essay Did you like this example? The book I read this trimester was The Choice written by Nicholas Sparks. The choice is a heart wrenching story about two neighbors, Travis and Gabby, who end up falling in love. Spanning the eventful years of their young love, marriage and family, The Choice ultimately confronts the reader with the hardest question of all: how far would you go to keep the hope of love alive? If i could make this book into a movie i would very known directors and actors because it would make the movie more interesting to the viewers. The directory i would use would have to be Nick Cassavetes because he has done many romantic movies such as the Notebook which was also based of a book written by Nicholas Sparks. The way Cassavetes films makes the motion picture more moving and he is experienced with this kind of romantic/dramatic plot line. For the actors i would use Debra Messing as Gabby. Debra is perfect for the role of Gabby because the have very similar characteristics. Most importantly she has the fiery red hair that Gabby has in the book. I think that Debra has featured herself in many roles that were similar to Gabby such as her part as Grace in the hit Sitcom Will and Grace. She also has fresh face and it would be easy for her to play both 28 year old Gabby and 40 year old Gabby. The next actor i would use Chris Pine for the character Travis. Travis is a laid back veterinarian who is very sporty and loves the outdoors. Chris Pine has that athletic look and physique. Chris Pine can play both 29 year old Travis and 40 year old Travis. Chris Pine has a very boys next door look which is needed because Gabby is supposed to have a huge crush on him. I think that Chris Pine and Debra Messing would have good chemistry and they would look good together. In the book Travis’ dad is a huge part. I would have to cast someone who is older but is good at acting. I would use Mel Gibson because he is a really good actor and he is a crowd pleaser. I think he would bring in an older crowd of people to come see the move. He also has done romantic type movies before so it wouldnt be hard for him to get into character. The next character are Travis and Gabby’s two daughters. These characters would be hard to cast because the are 8 and 5 years old so i would have to find two girls who look young and are good at acting. Also they have to look similar to each other and Chris Pine and Debra Messing. I would use Dakota Fanning’s little sister Elle. She has been in a few movies and she isn’t too young and she can look the age of the youngest daughter. For the older daughter i would use Noah Cyrus. She is the perfect age and she looks similar to Elle. For the location of the movie i would choose the actually setting of the book. The book takes place in North Carolina. I think that since the book already has a perfect place so why not take advantage of it. If all the casting worked out the way i wanted i think the movie could b e a box office hit because it has all the elements a movies needs. It has a good plot line, great actors that are known by many people and the location is beautiful and perfect. The movie cost wouldnt be that bad because we wouldnt have to film anything outside of the U. S. Overall The Choice was an amazing book and a movie version could be just as amazing. Don’t waste time!
